Council Announcements

Dear Community Member,

You are invited to apply for the position of Treasurer of the Empowerment Congress North Area Neighborhood Development Council, (ECNANDC). The ECNANDC is part of a citywide system of neighborhood councils. The Councils are official government entities, serving as advisory bodies to the City Council with the ability to influence decision making at the City and Community Level.

The ECNANDC represents some 64,000 stakeholders in Los Angeles. Our boundaries run from the 10 Freeway south to Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd., and from the 110 Freeway on the east to Western Avenue/Arlington. We are a community that is majority Latino and African American, with a median household income of $17,000. This is a community that needs city services and economic development. The ECNANDC works with block clubs, city agencies, and nonprofits to bring resources and services into our community, and to act as a voice for the community within city government. Governing board members are required to attend two meetings per month and are asked to participate in the activities of one or more committees. This is serious work for those committed toward the process of improving this community. This is your chance to make a direct impact.
